I have always enjoyed the marks made by the pen
As a Calligrapher Christine has always enjoyed the marks made by the pen, the feel of the sharp nib against the texture of the paper; the making of a fine page of lettering.Loading a pen with black, black ink and glorious colour you can see the shine of the wet ink upon the page.
Calligraphy is an art that connects the physical and the mental. There is a joy in the making and a contemplative aspect to the art that is calming and stilling in this busy world.
Christine's commissions range from Civic Presentation Scrolls, commissioned by Hereford, Leominster and Ross Council. Books of Remembrance and Donors, commissioned by Hereford Cathedral and The Queen’s Royal Hussars. Poetry Broadsheets, Conservation Work and Family Trees to name just a few.
